TPD goes some way to establish minimum standards for quality and safety and includes maximum e liquid volumes and strengths, packaging requirements and prohibits the use of some ingredients eg. caffeine, taurine, colouring. Further studies are needed to ensure any ingredient in e-liquid is safe when vaped at such high temperatures and that manufacturers list ALL ingredients. Verify Your e-Liquid Ingredients!
E-Liquid companies boasting “100% made in the UK” or “best flavours” or “best quality e liquid” must be able to back these statements up with full lab testing evidence and full ingredient transparency. It it not acceptable to present a whole range of eliquids, tell us how good they taste, the discounts, the next day delivery or the free postage …. and then hide or not disclose what exactly is in the eliquid – does it contain diacetyl! Telling us their eliquids are organic and made from delicious food grade ingredients or food flavourings does not tell us what else might go into the ingredients. Like saying a cake is made in the UK from finest flour. It may have the finest flour in it – but that’s not all it has in it!
