Pros

  • Extremely attractive design
  • Touch-sensitive control pads disappear when you aren’t using them
  • Intuitive control scheme
  • Rubber pad on the bottom shields the device from short falls

Cons

  • No notable drawbacks
If you’re an experienced vaper shopping for a more advanced pod system, you can pretty much expect that the device will have a screen and a power range of about 30 watts. Those are the features that you get with devices like the SMOK Novo 5, Voopoo Argus G2 and Innokin Trine – and although those features were definitely very novel at one point, they’re a little less novel now that every major brand has a 30-watt pod system with a screen. Companies need to work a little harder to make their stick-shaped pod vapes stand out, and that’s exactly what Geekvape has done with the Wenax Q Pro.

In the quest to compete with other brands offering products with similar technical capabilities, the Geekvape Wenax Q Pro already passes the first test in that it really stands out on store shelves. The appealing design hides a few unique technical features, though, and those are the things that really set the Wenax Q Pro apart from the competition.

Tastefully designed and technically sound, the Geekvape Wenax Q Pro is one of the best pod vapes on the market today. Reading this review, you’re going to learn why.

How Much Does the Geekvape Wenax Q Pro Cost?

Geekvape Wenax Q Pro Colours

The Geekvape Wenax Q Pro costs just £23.99 and is available in seven colours. Along with the Wenax Q Pro device itself, the kit also includes two Geekvape Q pods, a charging cable and an instruction manual. Replacement pods are sold in packs of three for £7.95 and are available in resistances of 0.6, 0.8 and 1.2 ohm. You can expect each pod to last approximately one week before the flavour quality begins to decline, but we suggest buying an extra box of pods with the starter kit to ensure that you won’t be caught without spares if a pod burns out unexpectedly.

Geekvape Wenax Q Pro Features

Geekvape Wenax Q Pro Reviews

Stylish Design with Touch-Sensitive Keys

The first thing you’ll notice about the Geekvape Wenax Q Pro is its striking styling, which makes the device look extremely modern even in comparison to other recent pod vapes with screens. The main reason why the Wenax Q Pro stands out so much is because it uses touch-sensitive keys in place of the traditional physical buttons on most pod mods. The keys appear when you need them and disappear when you aren’t using them, which is a nice touch. The Wenax Q Pro also features haptic vibration to provide feedback, making the device feel very responsive.

Over the years, there have been several attempts by vape brands to add touch controls to their devices. The touch-based controls of the Geekvape Wenax Q Pro are probably the nicest so far – and if you’re the type of person who chooses your favourite wattage and then never touches the buttons again, you’ll really appreciate the fact that the controls disappear when you’re finished with them.

Intuitive Interface

People who use pod mods like the Geekvape Wenax Q Pro are typically looking for a balanced experience that offers some flexibility for changing settings but doesn’t overwhelm the user with a huge array of options and features that won’t ever get used. The Wenax Q Pro does a much better job of achieving that balance than most other recent pod mods. The simple menu is easy to access, and it offers just a few options. From the menu, you can change the vaping mode, reset the puff counter and lock the fire button. You can also enable the device’s special Eco mode, which automatically reduces the power consumption to save battery life.

Rubber Pad for Extra Durability

The Geekvape Wenax Q Pro has a small rubber pad on the bottom, which is one of its most thoughtful design touches. The rubber pad offers extra shielding, helping to ensure that the device will be less likely to break if you happen to drop it on a hard surface.

Geekvape Wenax Q vs. Wenax Q Pro: What Are the Differences?

Geekvape Wenax Q vs Q Pro

The Geekvape Wenax Q Pro is an upgraded version of the original Wenax Q, which is still available and costs a little less. Should you opt for the newer Wenax Q Pro, or can you save a little money and go with the Wenax Q instead? Here’s how they compare.

  • The Wenax Q and Wenax Q both use Geekvape Q pods, so the flavour quality between the two devices is generally similar.
  • The Wenax Q Pro has touch-sensitive pads for adjusting the device’s configuration, while the original Wenax Q uses a single physical button for all adjustments.
  • The Wenax Q Pro has a higher power range of 30 watts. The maximum power of the Wenax Q is 25 watts.
  • The Wenax Q Pro has a higher battery capacity of 1,200 mAh, while the Wenax Q has a 1,000 mAh battery.
  • The Wenax Q Pro has large colour display, while the Wenax Q has a smaller monochrome display.

Although the Wenax Q and Wenax Q Pro are generally similar in terms of flavour quality, the Wenax Q Pro is a far more capable device in every way. It also has an upgraded visual design that’s significantly more attractive. Between those two factors, there’s little reason to buy the original Wenax Q at this point.

How to Use the Geekvape Wenax Q Pro

Geekvape Wenax Q Pro How to Use

The Geekvape Wenax Q Pro comes with a printed manual that does an excellent job of explaining the device’s functions in detail. In case you’d like to get an idea of what you can expect from your experience before buying the device, though, here’s a short overview on how to use the Wenax Q Pro.

Charging

To charge the Geekvape Wenax Q Pro, connect it to your computer’s USB port using the included charging cable. During charging, the screen shows the battery’s current charge as a percentage. When the screen reads “100%,” the charging process is complete. Charging the device from a completely dead state takes about 45 minutes.

Filling

Geekvape Wenax Q Pro How to Fill

To fill the pod, start by wiggling the mouthpiece until it comes off. The filling port is the small hole positioned to the side of the pod’s centre air channel. Add e-liquid until the pod is nearly full and replace the mouthpiece. You can fill the pod while it’s installed in the device.

Note that some Geekvape Q pods have side filling ports. In this case, the mouthpiece doesn’t come off. If you have a side-filling pod, you’ll need to remove the pod from the device to find the filling port.

Before you can start vaping, you’ll need to take the pod out of the device and remove the sticker on the bottom. When filling any Geekvape Q pod for the first time, you should also wait several minutes before vaping to ensure that the cotton is fully saturated.

Vaping

The Geekvape Wenax Q Pro supports both puff-activated and button-activated firing. You can vape by inhaling through the pod’s mouthpiece or by inhaling whilst holding the fire button.

The Geekvape Wenax Q Pro has a button locking function that prevents the button from being activated inadvertently when you’re carrying the device in your pocket. If you’re able to vape by puffing on the device but not by pressing the fire button, see the section below.

Changing Settings

To access the Geekvape Wenax Q Pro’s menu system, press the fire button four times. The menu offers the following functions.

  • Mode: This allows you to select the Power vaping mode or the Smart mode. In Power mode, you can select the device’s wattage manually. In Smart mode, the device selects its own wattage based on the resistance of the pod you’re using. When you’re using the Power vaping mode, you can adjust the device’s wattage by pressing the fire button three times.
  • Lock: This function locks and unlocks the device’s fire button. When the fire button is locked, puff-activated vaping is still active.
  • Puff Reset: This function resets the device’s automatic puff counter.
  • Eco: This function enables the Wenax Q Pro’s Eco mode, which reduces the power output to save battery life.

Geekvape Wenax Q Pro Review: Final Thoughts

If you’re looking for a pod mod that’s small in stature but doesn’t compromise on power, it would be hard to find a better option than the 30-watt Geekvape Wenax Q Pro. Thoughtfully designed and very sleek, the Wenax Q Pro’s touch-sensitive control pads are a delight to use and represent perhaps the vaping industry’s first successful foray into the world of using touch control in place of traditional manual buttons. Vapers have an embarrassment of riches these days with seemingly every manufacturer now offering a pocket-sized 30-watt pod mod, and we’d have to say that the Geekvape Wenax Q Pro is currently the best of the lot.
